Marketing Results

In this blogpost, I want to talk about why your marketing is the sum of everything that you do and not one single tactic or strategy.

Stop chasing hacks, tactics, strategies or little secrets

Let’s talk about how your marketing really works and let’s focus on the big picture. A lot of people these days are obsessed with strategies, with tactics. Everyone is looking to get the newest advertising hack or some type of secret strategy. Everyone is chasing these little secrets, these hacks, these tactics and strategies. And hope that one of these things is going to fix their marketing and will just allow them to explode their business. They hope it’s going to allow them to fix their business, to take what they’re doing and then scale their business. And that is a flawed way of thinking about marketing.

Your results depend on everything that you’re doing, not only on one thing

For example, I was on a business call with my clients and one of my clients was booking calls for his coaching program via organic marketing. He was having some conversations with potential clients and he wanted to get my feedback on his conversations to see what he could do better. He basically asked me: “What do I need to change? What do I need to do better here, with the conversations?”. And one thing that was interesting is that he thought that he could just tweak the way he speaks with his prospective clients and then his results would drastically improve. Although just a small tweak can result in a really big change, the results depend on everything.

When people are exposed to your content, they’re prequalified, pre-interested and predisposed to do business with you

It’s not just how you lead your conversations on social media, it’s also your organic posts. So, it’s not about what he does with the conversation, it’s about his whole marketing affecting that particular prospect. This includes the content that he posts, not just today, but for the last 30 to 90 days. Because when people are exposed to your content, the way they interact with you is very different. They are then prequalified, pre-interested and predisposed to do business with you.

Your content, your brand, the way you lead your conversations, the way you do Facebook Lives or the way you show up in your business, your personal philosophy,… Everything that you’re doing in your business and in your marketing is working together. And the results you’re getting from your marketing can’t necessarily be tracked back to one particular tactic or strategy or hack. It’s really the sum of everything that you’re doing.

You get the best results when you have everything dialed in

The people that get the best results are the ones that have everything dialed in. Their content speaks directly to their ideal client on social media. They are really good when it comes to leading conversations and have also mastered their sales skills. Once someone is on the phone with them, they’re extremely good at closing the deals. And when you see someone crushing it in their business, it’s usually a combination of everything that’s going on in their business, it’s not just one single thing.

Your marketing is an interconnected ecosystem, where everything is working together as one unit

This really is aligned with the whole idea of marketing ecosystems. You need to view your marketing as one big interconnected ecosystem where everything works together as one unit. Your content, your conversations, your funnels, your webinar, your Facebook group, your YouTube channel, your organic marketing, your retargeting,… Everything needs to be working together and the results that you get are the sum of all these things working together in a marketing ecosystem as one unit.

Marketing, when done properly, is holistic

That’s how you dominate your space and that’s how you produce outstanding results with your marketing. So, you should stop chasing these isolated tactics, strategies and things like that. Everyone is trying to sell these to you. And they don’t have necessarily the best intentions when they’re trying to sell you their hacks, secrets or strategies. Because marketing, when done properly is holistic. Holistic meaning it’s not just one single thing that needs to be done, everything should be done and should work together in a proper manner.

Keep this in mind, focus on optimizing all the separate parts of your marketing.  And focus on the big picture and creating an ecosystem that works for your business. And whenever everything is working together properly, that’s when your results start skyrocketing.
