Drop Shipping Secrets — The Number One Factor For Drop Shipping Success | TBS #136

Podcast

If you run a drop shipping store but aren’t getting any sales yet, you have to take a close look at what I call the 95% rule of drop shipping.

Here’s what the rule says.

All drop shipping success and failure comes down to two things:

1) Selling the wrong item

2) Selling to the wrong people

If you pick a proven, hot item and sell it to an irrationally passionate crowd then you will make sales. So if you aren’t making any sales yet, it’s because you’re trying to sell the wrong stuff to the wrong people.

Things like writing good copy, your store design, your layout, your logo, your product description and your advertisement matter.

But all those things are just the icing of the cake.

I’ve seen students successfully and consistently sell items with stores that look far from beautiful or professional. They got successful because they simply sold the right item to the right people. That’s absolutely crucial.

If you aren’t making any sales yet, then take a close look at your niche and at your item. Do you have proof that it’s a hot, best-selling item? Do you have proof that there’s competitors? Are other people selling the same or a similar item successfully? Is there a market?

And if you’re sure that your item is going to be a winner and you’ve done your homework, then get better at targeting on Facebook.

Use the Facebook Audience Insight tool to niche down.

Search for your perfect customers on Facebook and find a way to target them. Spend a few hours researching, looking for potential audiences to target and then run a new batch of ad sets. Learn how to advertise. Test and adapt.

But never, ever blame your website design.

(Or any other trivial aspect.)
