Brand Building (How To Build Your Personal Brand…)

Entrepreneurship Marketing Success

In this blogpost I want to share some tips that can help you build your personal branI haven’t been linking my face enough to the problem that I solve or rather the outcome that I help provide, in the past. A lot of people right now, with their organic marketing, are using a lot of text but that’s not the best way to build a personal brand. If you really want to build a personal brand, I invite you to use every opportunity to get people to see your face. You need to anchor your face to the problem that you help solve as an expert, coach or consultant or to the specific outcome that people want to achieve.

Combine long form texts with high quality photos

When you post something on social media, I recommend combining long form texts with high quality photos. Pictures that link the text to your face. I just have one of my employees take photos whenever I publish a post. If you don’t have a team right now, just get creative. Get your girlfriend or boyfriend, your mom to take a photo. Get a stranger to take a photo of you. Go to a co-working space, just get creative, this is business. You need to be resourceful. You can also take selfies from time to time. Just don’t over-use them, because they don’t position you as an authority. With only selfies it seems like you’re always alone, you don’t have a team, you don’t work with clients and you’re kind of a loner and that builds negative social proof.

Don’t make the same mistake

In the last twelve months, I’ve been posting too much written content and I haven’t been combining my content with photos. And recently I’ve started doing this and it was just overdue. It’s one of the big regrets I have over the last twelve months. So, I want to make sure that you don’t make the same mistake.

I recommend combining long-form text with photos. Facebook Lives are also great. Having a short text combined with a Facebook Live works really well as well. I wouldn’t recommend using too much video on Facebook. Facebook Lives generally have a bigger reach. And of course, YouTube is also a huge personal brand builder.

Link your face to the outcome your ideal clients want to achieve

Whenever your ideal clients are scrolling through their news feed, they should be constantly seeing your face. Even if they are not reading your posts, your face should literally become a reminder for the outcome that they want to achieve or remind them of the problem they want to solve. When they think about the problem they want to solve, your face should be the first thing to appear. When you have that type of authority build, it means you have a very strong personal brand in place and you’ve successfully linked the problem that you solve or the outcome that you help people achieve to your face. And that’s just incredibly powerful.

A visual brand is always going to be more powerful than a non-visual brand

When you have that type of personal brand, positioning and authority, that’s when a lot of great things start happening. You can still get great results by posting blogpost and long form posts without photos on Facebook. But if you really want to build a personal brand, you need to step in front of the camera. Whether that’s YouTube videos or high quality pictures. A visual brand is always going to be more powerful than a non-visual brand. So, keep this in mind. I believe, in the future, visual brands are going to play a more and more important role. So, if you’re not doing this already then now is the time to get started. I personally started way too late. I’m super happy, I’m now pretty much always posting photos and Facebook Lives along with my written content. And it’s been a game-changer for my business.
