Shopify SEO Tips — When You Should Focus On Shopify SEO Optimization | TBS #162

Podcast

Search engine optimization ‘SEO’ can be a great way to drive traffic. I personally use SEO on my podcast and on my YouTube videos to drive more and more traffic and reach new people every day.

It can also be a great traffic source for your drop shipping store.

However, before you start spending time and energy on Shopify SEO, I want to give you little bit of perspective on this whole topic.

Before you do any SEO, start with Facebook ads.

If you can’t build a profitable drop shipping store with Facebook ads, then don’t even bother focusing on search engine optimization. FB ads are the cheapest and most profitable advertising method right now, and it’s pretty easy to sell physical items with Facebook.

Also, you can target your ideal, perfect customers on Facebook. There is no other advertising platform that offers this type of accurate targeting at relatively cheap prices. Facebook is the place to be.

Running Facebook ads is an easy way to find out if your niche and your products are profitable and if your store is worth pursuing.

If people buy your products from Facebook ads it’s a great sign.

And if you can’t get anyone to buy your stuff with Facebook ads, then that’s a red flag. In that case, I’d stay away from wasting any time, money and energy on Shopify search engine optimization.

As I said earlier on:

If you can’t make consistent sales with Facebook ads, then I don’t think it’s worth focusing on search engine optimization.

However, if you can build your drop shipping store entirely off of Facebook ads and make consistent sales, then I think it’s a great idea to start focusing on Shopify SEO and get more organic traffic.

Now you know that the traffic will convert into sales.

And since you already have a steady source of traffic and revenue, you can now work on expanding that and building multiple streams of traffic and revenue so your business doesn’t just rely on a single one.

Just be smart and strategic about it.

First things first.

Make it work with Facebook ads and only then start the SEO. You’ll save yourself a lot of headaches, time and energy down the road.
