Work Life Balance — How To Run A Business And Have A Relationship | TBS #260

Podcast

I recently got a question from one of my subscribers who’s in college. He runs a successful side-business but discovered that he needs to focus a lot more on his business to really scale it.

However, at the same time there’s this girl he has a crush on and she’s showing interest in him. So now he’s wondering what to do.

Should he spend time with her and less time on his business?

Or should he forget her and focus fully on his business?

I suggest listening to your heart.

Making money is an important part of life, but so are relationships and romance. I think it’s not a choice between one or the other, you can have abundance in both of these areas in your life. You just have to learn to balance and maintain both at the same time.

I personally run multiple businesses and am in a relationship.

In fact, my girlfriend doesn’t somehow take away from my business. Having a relationship makes me want to provide better, make more money and thus my business does better than when I was single.

But maybe that becomes more important when you’re older. Anyway, I still believe you can scale your business and have a girlfriend. You’ll just have to hustle harder during the time you’re not with your girl. Get up earlier or stay up later to compensate for it.

Another good way to make a decisions is like this:

Picture yourself in ten years from now and think of the girl you have a crush on. Would you regret not having a relationship with her?

Would you regret because she was the love of your life?

Or would you not really care about it at all.

Answer these questions for yourself and listen to your heart. I believe your heart will guide you and help you make the right decision. I know as business people we like to listen to our rational mind, but in our love life we have to learn to listen to our hearts.
