Drop Shipping Invoice — How To Send Your Customers A Receipt Within Shopify | TBS #154

Podcast

When you fulfill an order on AliExpress.com you have to include a note to the seller and let them know that they shouldn’t include an invoice or receipt in the package they send to your customer.

Instead, you want to send your customers an email invoice with the exact amount you charged them directly from within Shopify.

There’s a simple plugin called Receitful that does this.

With Receitful you can send your customers customized invoices. The best part is that you can include a discount code in the receipt, so your receipts can be used as a marketing and sales tool.

For example:

You can give your customers a special 20% discount on all products that’s only valid for 14 days after their purchase. Receitful will then create a dynamic discount code for your customer that expires after two weeks, to add some urgency to the whole process.

This way you can send your customers a nice looking receipt while at the same time giving them incentive to come back to the store.

You can also include additional information about the delivery time in the receipt. I usually give my customers a heads up how long delivery takes and also give them some tips on how to use the item.

And by the way, even if your supplier includes an invoice or receipt in the shipment, don’t panic. If you’re doing free plus shipping, then you are charging them for the shipping and handling. So the item price that shows up if your supplier includes an invoice, would be for the item itself which you technically bought for your customer for free.

If you’re doing discount plus free shipping it’s a bit more problematic if your supplier fails to remove the invoice and receipt from the package. But even in that case you can get away with it.

At the end of the day, your customers just want the item.

And as long as they get that, most of them will be happy. It’s usually only “us” drop shippers that fearfully over-analyse everything.

Just say you don’t send paper receipts. Why are you creating problems that don’t exist? 😉

    Hi Till .
    I have question.
What we do if the supplier is not AliExpress but instead we deal with Walmart , eBay or Amazon? I think here is a dilemma.
