Best Marketing Software — How Marketing Automation Software Evolved Over Time | TBS #061

Podcast

If I’d have to pick two of the best marketing software tools right now it would be:

1) ClickFunnels
2) Shopify

When I built my first business in the music industry over 4 years ago, I only had very limited tools available. There was nothing like ClickFunnels or even LeadPages back then, the only thing we marketers had was OptimizePress 1.0. I sold my first beat package with an ugly sales page with a red headline using that 🙂

Later on OptimizePress 2.0 came out which was a huge game changer for anyone building marketing sites with WordPress.

Then a new innovation came a long called LeadPages.

The cool thing about LeadPages was that you could build landing pages at breakneck speed by using a collection of templates. You could literally pick, edit and publish a landing page in five minutes.

Later on I shifted away from accepting payments per PayPal. I was approved for Stripe.com and switched to SamCart.com.

SamCart was one of the first shopping carts that allowed you to add one-click upsells and OTO’s directly to your cart without much coding or fiddling around with third party plugins. Sam Cart was a huge game changer and that’s how I started my whole sales funnel journey. And this was still in the beat industry, around two years ago or so.

ClickFunnels is the biggest innovation in terms of marketing tools, because they took everything that was on the market in terms of software and made it a million times easier and all in one place. I instantly fell in love with ClickFunnels back in 2014.

The cool thing about ClickFunnels is that you can build landing pages, checkout pages and sales funnels all in one place. So essentially it replaced LeadPages and SamCart in one go.

I’m curious to see what the next innovation will be.
