School System Exposed – How School Makes Kids Less Intelligent And Kills Creativity | TBS #002

Podcast

The absolute best thing you can do, either if you go to school or not, is to cultivate skills.

You need to learn the skills that are needed in the world right now.

What happens is that the skills you’re learning at school aren’t necessarily the skills that the world needs. Why learn skills that don’t have a demand for?

I have a bachelor’s degree in sociology. What it will do for me? Pretty much nothing. Zero.

That paper is not going to fill my bank account. It’s not going to mean shit in the real world.

Just to give you an example: I work at marketing and I have zero education in marketing. I never attended any marketing or business university.

Never.

There was a job opening at BMW some time ago and I was one of the strongest candidates. The annual salary was around quarter of a million, and guess what? They didn’t care if I had a certificate, a piece of paper or diploma. They just wanted the best of the best.

What does a diploma matter against real world experience?

It doesn’t matter.

If you deliver results. If you have the skills that are needed. You will always have a job. You will always have a role in society.

And that’s how I almost got a high paying job in a huge corporation without any background in marketing. And that’s because I learned skills by digging my elbows dip in the mud.

I didn’t sit behind some desk.

I learned it from the real world.

That’s what you should do. You should learn applicable skills that the marketplace can absorve, that society needs.

Even if you disagree with me, make sure you try and focus on learning SKILLS rather than just regurgitating and processing information.

Those are my two cents regarding education and school.
