My Dad Says I Should Get A Job – How to Reach Financial Freedom And Financial Independence | TBS #011

Podcast

Question from @deadpool: “My dad says I should get a job”, “My dad thinks I’m stupid”.

It’s none of your parents business to decide who you will become in life, what your passion is, what your dream is and how you do it.

Nobody can live your life but YOU.

It’s your life, not theirs.

After you are born, your umbilical cord is cut.

That’s the first detachment you experience from your mother. You take your first autonomous breath and you start eating your own food. You’ve taken your first step to autonomy as a human being.

Then, when you hit adolescence you need to cut the second cord. You start to feel embarrassed by your parents, you start a rebellion, you start to say “No” and do a lot of dumb shit to test the boundaries of your parents and prove to them that you’re independent.

But even after adolescence your parents will still have tremendous power over your decisions, your emotions and who you are.

And that’s why you need to cut the cord a third time.

This is when you transcend from young adulthood into maturity and start making your own decisions based on your own truths.

If one of those decisions is to build a business, then go for it.

When your parents say they want “the best for you”, what they are referring to is security.

“the best for you” = security

But you know what happens to people who play it safe and don’t take risks? Nothing. That’s what happens.

You building a business is not a immature decision, or a rebellion statement to go against your parents. This is how you want to live. Yes, you will have to take risks. So what?

Stop looking for their approval. You have to make your own decisions. Take responsibility.

Don’t listen to your mom or dad’s advice.

IGNORE THEM.

AND LOVE THEM EVEN MORE.
