Evening Ritual — How To Increase Your Productivity With An Evening Ritual | TBS #066

Podcast

If you’re having troubles falling asleep, tuning down and going to bed at the same time every day, you should consider adding an evening ritual to your daily routine to help you transition from work to sleep.

As entrepreneurs nobody tells us when to work, but at the same time nobody tells us when to stop working, which is equally challenging.

See, it’s very important to work, but also to rest. You can only keep growing if you keep giving that extra push, and for that you need to be well rested, with your energy levels filled up. Give yourself the deserved rest.

Just take the example of breaking record athletes that have their resting periods plan out to the smallest detail. They need to rest as well as they work.

Your time is “contained” when you work a 9 to 5 job.

Your employer and the nature of the job keeps your workday and your leisure time clearly separated.

However as entrepreneurs we need to create boundaries for ourselves. We will prevent things like burnout, decrease of productivity, sleep problems, depression and inconsistency in our day.

It’s very tempting to be always ON when you’re an entrepreneur, but that is the perfect recipe for inefficiency.

Adding an evening ritual can do this for you.

My favorite evening ritual is actually super simple. My best days end when I stop working two hours before going to bed and block out anything related to work. I use a tool called “Self Control” to block any work related websites and social media sites that pull me back.

Plus if I feel like I need it. I’ll do 10-20 minutes of meditation to clear my mind from any unfinished work, worries and overthinking.

Works really well.

Give it a try. You will thank me! 😀
