Entrepreneur Myths – How To Become A Businessman And Internet Entrepreneur With Real Hustle | TBS #010

Podcast

I’m very concerned about the current romantic image surrounding entrepreneurship and I want to address this today.

The media, certain people and organisations have an interest in selling you entrepreneurship as the “good life”. This shiny image that blindsides many kids and young adults.

There’s a hype and a romantic image of becoming an entrepreneur. And is very different from the truth. It has become fashionable to be seen as an entrepreneur, but few have the capacity to be one.

In reality, this is wantrepreneurship.

Wantrepreneurs aren’t ready to sacrifice their lives for something bigger. They’re just in love with the idea of freedom, getting rich and impressing their friends. They don’t have a greater mission, or a deep purpose for what they’re doing, and thus they never succeed.

They fantasize about when they will be ready, but they withdraw at the first sight of work.

You have to be ready to go all in. You have to sacrifice a tremendous amount of time and energy if you want to become a real entrepreneur.

Prepare to work while everyone else is out partying, for sleepless nights and burnout. Prepare for tremendous responsibility.

You will fail a thousand times before succeeding. But if you continue pushing it will be worth it.

You can’t “romance” your way to becoming an entrepreneur. Stay grounded and realistic and execute every day.

You have to put a lot of hard work to conquer your freedom. The road to success is slow and turbulent. You have to be patient to become successful. To get up when everybody stays down.

Don’t be misled by this media fairy tale of entrepreneurship.

Are you ready to go from being a wantrepreneur to an entrepreneur?

If so, it means replacing romance with menial execution.

Start your journey now! Stop living in your dream world.
