Aliexpress Dropshipping Business — How To Deal With Order Cancellations | TBS #268

Podcast

When a customer places an order on your drop shipping store and then emails you and wants to cancel the order or exchange the item, there’s a few things you can do in order not to lose your money.

Since you are buying the items on AliExpress, you want to make sure you don’t lose a lot of money in case of a cancelation.

Here are different ways to deal with the problem.

1) Cancel the order within the processing time

Most suppliers on AliExpress have a processing time between 2-5 days. Within that time you can cancel your orders on AliExpress.

So if a customer buys the item on your Shopify store and asks to cancel the order or exchange the item within the processing time of your supplier, you can simply cancel the order on Aliexpress.

This is especially helpful when customers buy the wrong size or want to change the colour or design of the product last-minute.

In that case, just cancel the original order and place a new one.

Aliexpress will returns the money of your first order within a couple of days, so you don’t lose any money when customers cancel.

2) Open a dispute for late cancellations or refunds

If a customer asks for a refund or wants to exchange a broken item once the order arrived, or in case it didn’t arrive at all, you can open a dispute within AliExpress and get 100% of your money back.

Aliexpress has a dispute resolution centre just like PayPal.

So if a customer reports that an item didn’t arrive within the shipping time your supplier promised, or if an item breaks, you can open a dispute for the order on AliExpress and request your money back. Sometimes suppliers argue, but usually you can get your money.

Then you can send a replacement item to your customer without loosing any money, even though you sent a replacement. Just make sure you open a dispute within the allowed Aliexpress timeframe.

These two methods allow you to deal with customer cancellations without loosing any money and it will work in most cases 🙂

And even if you do lose some money here and there, remember, it’s part of building and maintaining a business. You want to reduce losses as much as you can, but don’t play a defence game. Focus on making money and growing income, not on not loosing money.
