Shopify Ecommerce Store — Shopify Versus ClickFunnels For Ecommerce | TBS #250

Podcast

I recently got a question from a subscriber who asked if it’s possible to bypass Shopify and sell physical items directly on ClickFunnels.

Luckily, I’ve split-tested both so let me share my results.

Here’s what I did.

I set up a Facebook ad with a link to the product page on Shopify and a duplicate Facebook ad with a link to a custom product page that I designed on ClickFunnels. Astonishingly, I got a much higher conversion rate on Shopify than on my ClickFunnels page.

The reason why is because people are used to shop on sites like Amazon, which has a certain e-commerce and shopping cart style layout. Clickfunnels is a bit more out of the box in terms of design.

Yes, you can create custom websites but ClickFunnels has no shopping cart functionality, which is something people are used to.

Shopify websites instantly build trust and comfort.

I believe Shopify is a better platform to run an e-commerce business. And it’s especially effective to turn cold traffic into buyers and profit.

However, when it comes to creating specific one-time promotions, holiday sales and product launches to existing customers, I believe ClickFunnels works better because you already have people’s trust and you have more control over the layout and copy of the page.

Essentially you can think of it like this: Shopify is more of a front-end platform to convert cold traffic into buyers and repeat buyers. And Clickfunnels is more of a back-end tool for special promotions.

I love both platforms, but I do like ClickFunnels a bit more than Shopify since I’m a marketing geek and it was built for me.

If you’re just starting out, I recommend only using Shopify.

And once your store gains some traction and you want to run some special promotions or launch a new product to existing customers, I recommend also adding ClickFunnels to your software arsenal.
