Marketing That Works — Don’t Change Something That Already Works, Add To It | TBS #073

Podcast

When you have a marketing campaign, strategy or advertisement that performs well, don’t change anything, or try to tweak too much.

When something you do works, don’t touch it.

Sometimes when you have an ad that performs really well on Facebook, you start adding more budget and the numbers and ROI just goes down the drain. Sometimes when you have a certain strategy that’s working, when you change a small aspect of it, it completely stops working and loses all the momentum.

That’s why Facebook advertising is so counter intuitive. Besides knowing how to create a successful ad, then you need to know how to manage it. Otherwise you will do the logic thing and your ad will stop working.

It’s very common that your CPC increases, instead of staying low, when you increase the budget on your ad.

So if you find an ad set, campaign, strategy, model or way of communication that works, don’t even think of changing it.

Don’t change what works. Add to it…

Leave your well performing ad how it is, and create a separate ad to test and scale up. Stick with your strategy or method that’s working, and try experimenting with additional strategies on top of that.

You can even create an similar ad and gradually build to the same budget as the original one. Just don’t touch the other.

This way you create opportunities for testing and tweaking, without putting the stuff that’s already working at danger or risk.

This is why is so essential to know why something works, but also know why something doesn’t work.

Gradually you test new ads. Then, if they work, you add them to those that have been working. If they don’t work, you drop them, and test new ones. That’s how you do it.

Hope it helps Emelina Minero 🙂
