Learn Drop Shipping — How To Launch Your Drop Shipping Store | TBS #182

Podcast

I recently got a question from one of my subscribers who asked if he should do a pre-launch for his new drop shipping business.

This was his plan:1) Around 7 days before the launch, he wanted to create FB ads to drive traffic to a “Coming Soon” page.

2) On that “Coming Soon” page, he’d have an email opt in with an offer for 3-4 free + shipping products that the customer can choose from on the launch day.

The idea is to build buzz before the store goes live.

Once the cart opens people on the e-mail list would buy the free plus shipping offers. They’re already warmed up and excited for the launch of the store. This strategy can work great in certain cases, but for drop shipping it’s a little bit overkill.

Spending money on Facebook ads and sending people to a “Coming Soon” page is a waste of money. Why? because you might as well launch your store and then start driving traffic and making instant sales.

Turning advertising dollars into profit isn’t that hard for a drop shipping business. So use your ad budget to get a direct return on investment.

You don’t need to pull of some ninja marketing trick 🙂

And even if you’ve been following people like Jeff Walker and have seen many traditional product launches with a pre-launch and open cart period, none of this is needed when you’re drop shipping.

So here’s what you should do:

Get your store ready. Add a minimum of three different products to your store and choose one main product for your free plus shipping offer. Once everything is set up and people can purchase, then you start running Facebook ads to your main free plus shipping offer.

And with good targeting and a bit of luck you’ll start making sales right away. If that’s not the case, improve your targeting or test another item and start a new ad set and repeat this until you hit gold.
