JV Partnerships — How To Find JV Partners For Your Product Launches | TBS #244

Podcast

The biggest product launches in the history of internet marketing have always been done with a bunch of joint venture partners and affiliates.

Whenever you hear of a multi-million dollar launch, think JV’s.

In order to make millions within a few hours, you need to have a whole network of partners promoting for you at the same time, hitting up their email lists and building a lot of buzz in the market place.

I recently did a joint venture launch that resulted in a bit more than $70,000. Not a million dollar launch, but I wouldn’t have been able to do it without joint venture partners. In fact, without joint ventures it would have probably been a $10,000 product launch at most.

So how do you find JV partners and affiliates?

Well, there’s no “quick” way.

It all comes down to building relationships with key industry players. You can’t just reach out to these people and ask them to promote for you. Most of them will ignore you or turn you down if you do that.

You have to dig your well before you’re thirsty.

That means if you’re planning to do a launch next year, now is the time to start building those relationships and looking for partners.

Here are two ways to build relationships:

1) Give them exposure

If you have an email list and a social media audience, reach out to the person you want to partner up with and ask for an interview. Everyone loves interviews and if you have a big enough following, you can offer them a lot of exposure for free which means you’re giving value.

During the interview you’ll get to know the person better, you’ll spend 20-60 minutes video conferencing together and you’ll bond.

If you ask the person to promote for you at a later point, they will already know you and have context. You’ve already built rapport through the interview and you’ve already offered value upfront.

2) Make them money

The second way to offer value upfront is to make them money. Just become a partner for them. Or buy advertising on their website. Send out an email to your email list when they launch their next product. Just do anything that can help to make them more money.

Everyone loves money and wants more of it. And if you give them money, you instantly have a established a business relationship.

It’s going to be easier to ask them to promote for you later.
