Drop Shipping Tips — Selling Products From Different Brands In Your Store | TBS #237

Podcast

One of my followers recently got worried about the fact that his store has its own branding and logo, but then the products he drop ships to his customers don’t have that logo or brand attached to it.

He was wondering if his customers expect the logo of the store and the brand to also be represented on the purchased products.

The short answer is: “No”

When you buy a product from Apple or from Nike, you obviously expect the brand to be represented on the product. You don’t just buy the item, you buy the whole brand experience. You want the Apple logo to be on the back of your iPhone and you want the Nike logo to be on the side of your sneaker. Consumers expect that from them.

However, when you’re selling items in a random store that nobody knows, people aren’t buying the brand, they are buying the item.

They either want the item or they don’t want it.

And they don’t care about your brand because you don’t have one.

It’s like walking into a random shop on a corner of a street and seeing a post card that you like. You like it so much that you buy it. But you don’t care about the store, the name of the store and the fact that the logo of the store isn’t represented on the postcard you just bought.

And it’s the same when people shop online. In fact, most online stores sell a bunch of products from different vendors, suppliers and manufacturers which is how most online and offline retail stores work.

This isn’t just widely accepted by consumers, it’s actually the norm. So don’t overthink this whole thing, just create your store 🙂

Most people get in their own way when it comes to building an online business. Overanalysing and worrying about these small things are killing your success and holding you back. Also you could overcome these mental “roadblocks” with a bit of common sense thinking.
