Drop Shipping Suppliers — How To Recruit Suppliers Outside Of AliExpress | TBS #168

Podcast

So I recently got a question from one of my followers who asked how he could get approved with suppliers outside of AliExpress.com.

He mentioned that he found a really good supplier.

But they asked him to fill out a form with all sorts of questions:

“What’s your annual revenue?”

“Since when are you in business?”

“What other products and brands do you sell?”

And so forth.

If you don’t have any “credentials on paper” to back up your application, it’s likely that they won’t do business with you. If you have zero revenue, you’ve never sold anything in your life, and you honestly answer all those questions, it’s not going to happen.

My advice is to start off with AliExpress and build your first drop shipping business that way.

It’s a lot easier than finding and recruiting external drop shipping suppliers outside of AliExpress.com.

Also once you start generating sales and revenue, you now have some numbers and some experience to back up your applications.

That being said, if you still want to go ahead and drop ship with a supplier outside of AliExpress.com, you should try avoiding the bureaucratic process as much as possible and regain control.

With the bureaucratic application, the supplier is controlling the process and you have little leverage. You need to find a way to flip the script and regain your power. And the best way to do that is by getting on a phone call with a decision maker and connecting personally.

Reach out to drop shipping suppliers via cold emailing or cold calling and try setting up an appointment. And once you’re on the phone, persuade them why it’s a good idea to do business with you.

This actually requires some sales and persuasion skills. So if you aren’t used to selling or negotiating deals, this is not for you.

As I said earlier on, AliExpress.com is best for beginners.
