Drop Shipping On Shopify — How Important Is Your Logo And Store Design? | TBS #240

Podcast

A lot of people get obsessed with the design of their online store or landing page. They become terribly attached to the looks of their store, instead of the substance of the store.

The look of your store doesn’t matter that much.

I’ve had students with ugly logos and unprofessional looking stores and bad website layouts make consistent daily sales.

On the flip side, I also get a few people every week contacting me and telling me they haven’t made a single sale yet. When I go and look at their website, it’s absolutely perfect, beautifully designed. I’m blown away when I look at their online store.

And yet it doesn’t matter because looks don’t matter.

As long as you stick to a proven design template, which is the case when you use any of Shopify’s themes, and you don’t mess up crucial elements or make major mistakes, you’re fine.

I’ve said this in previous videos: 95% of your business success comes from selling a hot product to a hungry crowd.

Design, logo, layout, brand name make up the other 5%.

Stop obsessing with the design of your store, it’s actually something that’s holding you back. Instead, spend all the time you’ve been trying to create a “perfect” online store on niche research, product selection and targeting the right people.

People don’t buy on your store because it looks good. If it worked that way, then the most beautiful looking online stores would make the most revenue and generate most sales.

In reality people buy on your store because they desperately want to own the product, the design is almost irrelevant.

Don’t be so attached to the looks of your store.

It’s insane how people are attached to the look of their stores like it’s an extension of them or something. You have to learn to leave your ego out of business and just do what works. Focus on the actual high leverage things instead of trivia.
