There’s plenty of awesome products you can find on AliExpress.com, but there’s a few categories you want to avoid like the pest.
Although some items seem like they are perfect for drop shipping, they might come with legal repercussions because of trademarks, copyright and potentially dangerous effects of using the item.
Here’s a list of categories to stay away from:
1) Trademarks
Pokemon Go iPhone covers seem like a great item to sell right now, however you’d probably be breaching many trademarks.
Although it’s a trending niche item, you should never sell it.
2) Copyright
This goes hand in hand with the trademark. Any items that have copyright, stay away from them. Don’t sell knock-off brands and fake copies of famous brand items like Gucci and Armani purses.
3) Toxic
Anything that people consume, stay away from it. You don’t want to sell any food, supplements or anything people stick in their mouths, their babies mouths or their pet’s mouths. You don’t know what type of toxic stuff is in those Chinese products, so stay away from them.
If someone buys a product from AliExpress and their baby or pet gets intoxified or dies, then they will probably come after you.
Avoid selling any items that are potentially harmful.
4) Dangerous
Stay away from items that are potentially dangerous. Don’t sell anything related to security. If you sell a security belt or “parachute” via AliExpress and someone has an accident and gets injured, they might sue you and you are responsible for the items you sell.
Don’t sell any high-risk items that might get people injured.
Overall, there are plenty of products you can drop ship so there’s no need to sell any of the items above. Use common sense when picking your items and always double check these four categories first.
Also make sure you have a company that protects your personal assets and sell your drop shipping items as part of the company.
