Drop Shipping Facebook Ads — Maintaining A Drop Shipping Store During The Holiday Season | #264

Podcast

During the Chinese New Year your Aliexpress.com drop shipping supplier will likely take a 10 day break which will results in a shipping fulfilment delay of any orders you place during that period.

So what should you do during the Chinese New Year?

Here’s what I suggest:

If you have any profitable ad sets that are making money for you, don’t stop them or pause them. Just leave them as they are and let people place orders on your store like usual. Messing with your daily ad budget or pausing them will kill the momentum your ads have.

People often make the mistake of thinking that you can pause or change your campaigns and they will just run as they used to.

That’s a common mistake when it comes to FB ads.

Every little budget change can impact your results and render your ad useless. Pausing and restarting your campaigns can kill their performance since they loose the momentum they built.

Here’s a general rule of thumb for you:

Whenever you have a profitable ad set that’s making “free” money for you, never ever touch the ad again until it stops being profitable.

Never mess with a winner, even during Chinese New Year.

If you want to make sure your campaigns keep performing the way they are, just leave them as they are. Instead of pausing your ads, inform your customers that there might be a slight delay in the order fulfilment because of the holiday season and New Year. Just be fully transparent about the delay and leave everything else as it was.

You can inform your customers about the possible delay on the product page and also in the order confirmation email that you send out from Shopify. Of course the delay is not ideal, but it’s the smaller evil than rendering a well performing Facebook campaign useless.

Remember, the Chinese New Year will be over pretty fast.

Even if you loose some money during these days, it’s worth taking the loss in order to keep up momentum of your winning Facebook ads.
