Clickfunnels Custom Domain — Will A Clickfunnels Custom Domain Increase Conversions? | TBS #189

Podcast

In ClickFunnels you can either use their hosted URL’s like tillboadella.clickfunnels.com or you can set up a custom domain like www.tillboadella.com and use that for all of your funnels.

In most cases it makes sense to get a custom domain because it looks more professional.

It builds trust and the links are shorter

I recently did a promotion that did around $10,000 in four days.

However, I didn’t bother using a custom domain in ClickFunnels. And as a result a lot of people thought the offer was a fraud or that the email account was hacked. And this happened because people in that market weren’t used to this weird and somewhat suspicious looking ClickFunnels URL.

If we had used a custom domain, we’d probably made $15,000 or $20,000 within those four days. So how you set up your domains can have a huge impact on your conversions and your gross revenue.

And then I’ve had other promotions in other markets that made a lot more money (like the most recent live webinar that made more than $45,000 in five days). Sometimes people simply don’t care about the URL and it doesn’t matter if you use ClickFunnels built in links.

So how do you know when to use which option?

In most cases, I use the ClickFunnels self-hosted links. This works well if your audience already knows about ClickFunnels and if they haven’t been habituated to a different domain that they trust.

For example, if you build a brand and for 10 years you use the same domain and then you suddenly run a promotion with ClickFunnels using their built-in domain name, then people might be suspicious. In that case it’s better to keep using the custom domain they’re used to.

So it really depends on your market, your followers, how well educated they are. And also with what domain names they’ve become acquainted to and other factors that might determine their perception.

Probably it’s just best to use a custom domain.

There’s some technical headache associated with that. For example getting your own SSL certificate, using CloudFlare or a WordPress plugin, but once you’ve got everything set up it’s pretty straight forward.

If you want to know for sure, just test using a custom domain and using the ClickFunnels links and see if it makes a difference.

Testing is always the best way to find out the truth

I hope this helps.
