So what’s the best social media platforms for marketing?

Here’s how you can find the sweet spot between talent and target audience in these social media marketing tips and tricks for small businesses.

Pick ONE social media platform you’re instinctively good at and choose a storytelling format that you’re naturally good at and comfortable with.

That’s my first advice.

Make sure you take a look at where your target audience is hanging out.

Let’s take the example of the fitness industry. You want to become fluent in a social media platform that you can post a lot of pictures, because fitness is based on your appearance. And so Twitter wouldn’t be my first pick.

You then have Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and a few others. Instagram and Snapchat tend to be more personal, so if you have a nice physique you will be able to leverage this pretty well. Just remember to also work on your storytelling. Facebook is also good, specially if you intend to upload pictures from other people because the process is easier than Instagram.

But see, you need to understand what are you selling and who are you selling to. That’s very very important.

Picking the wrong channel will sabotage your efforts.

So…

Are you trying to reach business professionals? Maybe LinkedIn is great for you. Are you looking to reach people under 25? Maybe Snapchat is your choice.

There’s rarely a best decision. What’s best is that you make a decision as soon as possible. That’s what’s important. Pick one of them and stick with it.

The real power comes when you combine your natural talent and your way of storytelling with your target audience’s platform. You’re content can be great, but you need to be captivating. That means you have to transmit your passion and message enthusiastically.

Stay consistent and you’ll see your fan base growing.

Keep hustling.
